CIVIL WAR (A24) - This week, we’re diving into A24’s PR campaign for Alex Garland’s dystopian film starring Kirsten Dunst. The film opened at No. 1 making it A24’s biggest opening ever, so let’s take a look at the campaign that got them there. The film had a buzzy debut at the SXSW Festival with the cast doing the press rounds in Austin and early fan reactions declaring it “riveting” and a “masterpiece.” Then the studio hosted a red carpet premiere in Los Angeles at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Kirsten graced the covers of Flaunt, Marie Claire, and British GQ. She made the talk show rounds on Jimmy Kimmel, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and a cast appearance on The View. Kirsten was dubbed “Our Most Reasonable Movie Star” by IndieWire for her refreshingly candid and straightforward answers (no talking points here!). Alex and the stars of the film sat down for a big feature on CBS Sunday Morning. Garland was also a guest on The Daily Show. The A24 marketing team rolled out an interactive site where fans could upload a photo and receive a “Civil War”-inspired toy soldier.  And the reviews rolled-in with LA Times saying the film “shows an America long past unraveling, which makes it necessary.”

3 BODY PROBLEM (Podcast) - Netflix launched the 3 Body Problem podcast and it’s currently #2 on TV & Film Podcasts and was #6 in All Podcast Charts on Apple Podcasts.
