Issue 1.11.24
Morning from INTERVIEW HUB!
As we ramp up to our official launch, we’re sharing the entertainment industry’s most anticipated TV & film premieres and highlighting new media outlets that we’re obsessing over. We’re hoping this little teaser campaign gets you excited for what’s to come! In this issue we highlight:
💘 The brilliant bus & Mean Girls marketing campaign
🌴 Kristen Wiig’s next project
🌊 The new wave of YT creators

🌴 PALM ROYALE (Apple TV+) On the heels of her scene stealing Golden Globes moment, Kristen Wiig is back, and exuding Slim Aarons vibes in this poolside shot in Palm Beach. In the new Apple TV+ series, “Palm Royale,” the show revolves around Wiig in this fish-out-of-water story as she endeavors to infiltrate Pam Beach high society. We’re eagerly anticipating the breathtaking ‘60s glam and fashion and the star-studded cast (Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas and Kaia Gerber!) to hit the press rotations.
✏️ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (ABC) We just love the brilliant marketing campaigns that the ABC crew dreams up (New Teacher Dis-Orientation at Comic-Con, anyone!?) and we’re sure they are pulling out all of the stops to re-launch their biggest hit, “Abbott Elementary,” which returns Feb 7. From this summer’s Essence Fest to a recent Rolling Stone feature of Quinta, we can’t wait to see her everywhere — where she belongs!
👀 QUEER EYE (Netflix) The Fab Five are back in New Orleans? Give me a Queer Eye episode, Cafe Du Monde beignet and cafe au lait and its heaven! The only thing that’s bittersweet about this season — is that Bobby Berk recently made this announcement “It's with a heavy heart that Season 8 will be my final season on 'Queer Eye.'” So grab the tissues for his last scene, the amazing transformations and keep an eye out for the big fab five press appearances as they ramp up to launch the show on Jan 24.

🤩 MEAN GIRLS (Paramount Pictures) If this brilliant photo above doesn’t sum it up… the Paramount Pictures marketing & PR team killed the “Mean Girls” film campaign. From these “look both ways” buses, to the digital burn books, the New York Times Then and Now story, the Cady2 / Lindsey Lohan pink carpet moment and 12 Days of Fetch giveaways, this 360 marketing wasn’t a regular campaign — it was a cool campaign!

We came across an interesting new trend and article via Collin and Samir’s Publish Press - they call it the New Wave of Creators and “their goal is to rebel against the so-called ‘Beastification of YouTube’ by shunning traditional metrics in favor of an almost filmmaker-like focus on storytelling and deep personal truths.” We love what these young filmmakers are doing and think for the right film studio or campaign there could be ways to build relationships with them; bring them to set to meet DPs and directors; create collaborative art and foster their growth on YouTube.
