Betches Media Q&A
Hi there!
In the early 2000s, we worked at a major TV network, and once a year we would set up in-person lunches with talent bookers at talk shows (dating ourselves but Ellen, Conan).
We would talk to them about:
✅ Guests bookings & trends
✅ Best way to pitch them
✅ Entertainment they loved
It was fun, and productive and gave us important intel that we needed to do our jobs.
Well, we wanted to bring that same spirit to Interview Hub.
So we’re kicking off a monthly series of Industry Q&A’s with some of our favorite new media outlets to deliver you all the insights (minus the parking, carbs and …oh time.)
Today, we chat with the Director of Talent Relations at Betches Media and upcoming issues will feature iHeart, The Skimm, and more.
As always, let us know what you think!

If you aren’t familiar, Betches is a wildly successful media brand known for its sharp voice and viral content. The company delivers a range of video, editorial, podcasts, and social content that reaches 1 in 5 women in the U.S. and 250 million people globally. They recently announced a massive partnership with the NFL. And they have these great interview-based podcasts, including American Fever Dream (Politics & pop culture), Mention it All (all things Bravo), and U UP? (modern dating). Enjoy this Q&A with the Director of Talent Relations.

What type of guests are you booking on podcasts at Betches in 2025? Betches takes pride in highlighting notable names within the industry— we’re on the pulse for rising creators, Hollywood stars, artists, and reality TV icons with comedy interwoven into the fabric of the content. In 2025, we're prioritizing highlighting more Gen Z talent within these spaces.
What previous guest bookings/interviews did really well with Betches' audience? Do you have a general idea why it was such a hit with your community?
Two guest bookings that resonated well with the Betches audience were Anna Kendrick and Becky G on How Online Are You. These episodes went viral across social platforms, with each one garnering over 3M views on TikTok. Their success was driven by our phenomenal production team that reverse-engineered virality by carefully researching the most topical subjects that paired well with talent.
How many pitches do you receive in a week?
Over 100 a week
What makes a pitch stand out?
A pitch stands out when the publicist or manager has researched the show and can clearly explain why their client is a great fit. Catchy subject lines help, and I appreciate it when the pitch feels personalized and tailored to the brand/person who is receiving the email.
What podcasts, YouTubers or newsletters are you reading/watching?
Beyond the amazing Betches lineup with U Up? and How Online Are You, I’m really inspired by First We Feast’s Hot Ones.
Any TV shows you're obsessed with?
White Lotus S3 and Severance on Apple TV. As for comfort (or maybe pain) watching, Sex and the City is also always my go-to.
