Issue 3.18.24

Morning!  Before we dive in, we wanted to share a quick overview of Interview Hub and how it works. This is the first interactive newsletter! We share the interviews happening in the entertainment industry. But our main goal is to make pitching and booking these interviews easier. If you’re a publicist, you can submit an interview opportunity to be featured in the next newsletter. If you’re a media outlet, you can express interest in covering via the forms below. It’s easy. All in one place.

To book or pitch an interview complete these forms:
🖊️ Media: Book an Interview
💌 Publicists: Pitch an Interview opportunity
🕰️ Deadline: Wednesdays at 5 PM PST

MONKEY MAN (Universal Pictures) - Dev Patel + Jordan Peele = Must-See. On April 5, Patel's tour de force directorial film debut is set to hit theaters. The Verge called the action thriller “like a warning shot fired at John Wick.” This praise was followed by a stellar SXSW premiere, rave reviews (“Bloody, Stylized Action Bone-Cruncher”!?) and a standing ovation. Keep an eye out for Dev while he does press rounds to promote this hot film.

UNDER THE BRIDGE (Hulu) - On April 17, the uber-talented Oscar® nominee Lily Gladstone ("Killers of the Flower Moon”) and Riley Keough (“Daisy Jones & The Six”) are starring in a true crime adaptation for Hulu. Based on Rebecca Godfrey's book, the series dives into the dark world of a group of girls accused of murder. The trailer ran during the Oscars and we’re betting it's a big launch.

GOING HOME WITH TYLER CAMERON (Book Interview) - From “The Bachelorette” to builder and businessman! Tyler Cameron stars in Prime Video’s new home renovation series. After the sudden loss of his mother, Tyler moved back to his hometown, Jupiter, Florida, to reunite with his family and to follow his dream of starting his own construction and home renovation company. Tyler is available for virtual interviews, as well as in-person interviews in New York and Los Angeles in early to mid April.

GROWN-ISH (Book Interview) - The final season of "grown-ish" returns on March 27. Freeform is currently booking interviews with the cast to talk about this groundbreaking series and the end of an -ish era. Star Marcus Scribner is available for virtual interviews, as well as in-person interviews in New York and Los Angeles (pending availability).

THE MCBEE DYNASTY (Book Interview) - In this new series, the high-stakes ranching and farming world of McBee Farm & Cattle is on the brink of becoming either a billion-dollar business or a financial disaster — a real life “Yellowstone!” The McBee family is available for virtual interviews.

SOUNDS DELICIOUS (Book Interview) - Sounds Delicious, a new cooking series starring Carnie Wilson, is set to premiere April 16. She dishes alongside her friends and stars from John Stamos to Sharon Osbourne on the new show. Carnie is available for virtual interviews.

3 BODY PROBLEM (Netflix) - The marketing and PR team at Netflix has been working in overdrive with the “3 Body Problem” campaign. Netflix didn’t drop the trailer via the boring way (a la press release & exclusive). They targeted CES, the annual tech convention. And upped the ante with a full-blown immersive experience. Fans waited for an hour+ to get a glimpse of this new show via virtual reality headsets. Then they captured fan reactions on the way out. For added exposure, the “Game of Thrones” producers attended and chatted with tech press and influencers. Then the EP’s graced the cover of The Hollywood Reporter sending a message that this was going to be a massive show and campaign. The marketing team launched the site DoNotAnswer.co that leads fans to a bulletin board filled with clues. Then the last stop on their epic promotional tour was a headline screening at SXSW. They gave headsets to the entire audience, threw a party and then like magic filled the sky with a hologram. The hologram appeared over the city announcing “We are everywhere.” And that is where Netflix landed… in everyone’s feed, with that brilliant stunt and campaign.

IT’S NOT ENOUGH TO HEADLINE SXSW ANYMORE

At SXSW, studios have to stand out among the hundreds of panels, stunts, and outdoor activations, capturing the attention of press and influencers in attendance. It's no easy feat, but that's exactly what they did this year.

"The Fall Guy” premiere kicked things off with a motorcycle stunt that filled the streets with smoke. And then Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt arrived in the back of a pick-up truck waving to screaming fans. Ryan did the carpet in a branded jacket under the SXSW sign— giving us the perfect photo! Neon’s “Immaculate” screening kicked off with a live choir and the haunting image of Sydney Sweeney and creepy red faced nuns. Of course, the previously mentioned Netflix hologram stunt. And Prime Video partnered with Overheard Austin to release a special edition of “The Idea of You” newspaper in high traffic locations around the city!

MARKETING EXAMPLES (Newsletter) - This is the “#1 Marketing Newsletter” read by 130K of the cool, creative types. Harry Dry breaks down clever copy lines and the best CTA’s in a visual (and colorful!) way. This would be a fun collab for a unique TV or film ad.

DESIGN MATTERS (Podcast) - Debbie Millman started the very first design podcast called Design Matters. Over the years, she has had wide-ranging conversations with designers, writers, artists, curators, and musicians. She’s interviewed everyone from Rick Rubin to Gloria Steinem and is a great outlet for your writers, set designers or directors.

THE LAMORNING AFTER (Podcast) - Actor and comedian Lamorne Morris (“New Girl,” “Fargo”) just launched a new podcast! He is joined by writer/director Kyle Shevrin and a rotating cast of celebrity guests. They will discuss life, relationships, and most importantly, what they did last night.
